What do Scouts do?
- We learn and try our best to live by the Scout Oath and Law, doing our duty to God and our Country, helping others, and keeping ourselves physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight. A scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent.
- We love to be outdoors. We hike and camp and discover nature. We fish and canoe, swim, and play games. We build things and cook. We learn to be safe at home, in nature, and using tools. We make friends and help in our community.
- We abandon screens for a while each week and focus on time with friends and family.
- Three of four meetings each month are in a den with scouts of the same grade, working on their own adventures and advancements.
- One meeting per month we meet together to learn what everyone has been doing and to hand out awards and play and work together.
- There is usually a weekend activity every month, and we camp about every 6-8 weeks.

Gates open at 8am.
* Parking is limited. Car Pooling is encouraged where you can.
* Ground is WET. Close toed shoes are MANDATORY. Boots are encouraged. No CROCS. No Sandals. Tennis shoes that can get wet are fine. Bring dry socks and shoes for the ride home if you want dry feet for the ride.
* Leaders will check us in and distribute wrist bands. We will all meet at Handicraft Lodge across from the parade field. (From the parking Admin Building, follow the road towards the pool but turn left at the footbridge. Large field with flag pole will be on your left. Craft Lodge will be on your right. We will meet here hand out the wristbands and to line up for flag ceremony that will start promptly at 9am.
* What to bring: Essential Six: Snacks, Sun Protection, Water Bottle. Yeah, that’s 3. We have not covered this yet. The other three are flashlight, first aid kit, and whistle. Maybe best to hold off on these for Lions and Tigers until they know when and how to use them. LOL.
*LUNCH – There will be a snack bar (AKA Roadkill Grill) available for burgers and hot dogs, chips, soda and candy. Hamburger meal ( burger, chips, water) is $7. Hotdog meal (dog, chips, water) is $6. Could they run out? possibly. You can preorder on Thursday. I will post details.
* Bing your own sack lunch if you prefer.
* The Pack will eat together so bring your snack bar or bag lunch – we will figure out where.
* SNACKS – Scout Trading Post will be open – they have candy and snacks and smoothies and some scouting souvenirs. Popular items are Ugly Mugs which are hard plastic cups. I do not know if there will be any branding of the mugs offered at this event.
Ne need to buy any of this. Just letting you know it will be there.
* Chairs – No one said this, and I am bringing a folding camp chair There are plenty of small pavilions with tables…. and this Grandma wants to sit down. Adults may want to bring a chair if they have one.
* There will be a water slide. Bring a swim suit and towel
* There will be a costume parade and Trunk or Treat at the end of the day. Costumes must be Scout Friendly – not too gory, not offensive, So…. if your costume will hold up to a busy day of walking and activities, it is fine to wear it. You can also bring it to change to at days end.
I do not know the full schedule but likely activities will be as below. We will have a scheduled time to do the more popular activities.
* BB Gun range
* Bounce house
* Water Slide
* Obstacle course
* Sheriff or K9 Search and Rescue Team demo
* Jamboree on the Air – talk with Scouts around the world on short wave radio
* Crafts
